Shopify analytics you can trust: revenue, orders and conversion rate

If your revenue in one tool never matches the number in another, you are not alone. Most confusing Shopify analytics come from a few small mistakes: different time periods, different time zones and missing data.
Here is how to read the three numbers that matter most, and how to make sure they tell the truth.
Use one period for every number
Revenue for the last 7 days compared with conversion for the last 30 days tells you nothing. Pick one period and use it for every card on your dashboard. Only then do changes mean something.
Use your store’s time zone
“Today” should mean today in your store’s time zone, not in the server’s. If a tool uses a different time zone, late-night orders move to the wrong day and your daily numbers never match Shopify.
Revenue and orders come from your orders
The most reliable revenue number is built from your actual Shopify orders, not from a tracking script that can miss sales. Keep your orders synced and check that your full order history has finished importing before you compare months.
Conversion rate needs real visitor data
Conversion rate is purchases divided by visitors. If a tool does not know how many people visited, it cannot calculate conversion, and a number like 100% is a sign that visitor data is missing, not that your store is perfect.
Check that visitor tracking is installed on your storefront
Compare conversion only across the same period
Look at the funnel to see where shoppers drop off
Ask questions instead of building reports
Most owners do not want another spreadsheet. They want answers: which products sold best last week, which coupons were used, how many customers came back. Asking in plain words is faster than building a report.
How AI Smart Engine keeps numbers honest
AI Smart Engine builds every dashboard number from your synced Shopify orders, in your store’s time zone, on the same period. New orders sync every minute, and the dashboard tells you while a sync is still running. Ask AI answers questions about sales, customers, coupons, payments and stock from the same data.
